What’s this webinar about?

Our latest free charities webinar will look at the intellectual property issues relevant to charities. Sarah Webb and Shivaji Shiva will discuss what you need to know to identify key intellectual property rights and take practical steps to protect them and make them work to promote your charity’s aims.

Intellectual property (IP) is a key asset for many charities and like any other asset it must be managed. Charity trustees have a duty to safeguard the assets of their charities and when properly managed IP rights can help your charity protect its reputation, distinguish itself from others in the same field, and generate income to support its work.

This webinar will explore:

  • key IP rights for charities
  • when you should register IP rights
  • the duties of charity trustees
  • licensing IP to third parties, including trading subsidiaries
  • brand management
  • governance: policies and education
  • key cases and recent developments
