RAAC – Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete has dominated news headlines recently and is becoming a pressing political issue. RAAC can affect any building built in the last 60 years. We look at potential liabilities for the sellers of commercial property and circumstances in which landlords and tenants can have unexpected liabilities.

Building Safety Act 2022 – This legislation was intended to improve the design, construction and management of high risk buildings. However, practitioners have found that it throws up some unexpected problems and we look at some of them and how they can be addressed.

Case update – some recent cases including important decisions about the landlord’s right to forfeit the lease of a commercial property and how a landlord can find that a contracted out tenancy has become one which is within the protection of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954.
